What's the strangest interview you've ever been on?

I'll start:

Right out of college I applied for a "marketing associate" role. The company said they re-marketed products for companies like Disney, Lego and Rubbermaid. On the phone interview they invited me for a try-out day. Thought I'd be shadowing someone as they took calls, participated in meetings and whatnot.

[Dateline Voiceover] "but that's not what Phil would be doing..."

Met my trainer and he said "Let's go." Got in his car and drove to Quincy. MA. He opened his trunk and it was filled with measuring bowls, neck pillows and Mp3 players [I'm that old]

We then walked into businesses hawking product. I did this for 8 hours. It was miserable. I was offered to join the company, but declined.

Moral of the story: What at the time I viewed as an awful day is now a funny story I look back on as a valuable life lesson. That lesson: Research a company before taking an interview.
